Local News | SPANISH SATURDAYS

Every Saturday we set our alarm clock early and walk the 3 kilometres to reach our neighbouring Town to the local Spanish market in Almoradi where we find a meeting point for merchants and buyers from all over the region. Almoradi market is a market with a great variety of stands that are installed around  the streets adjacent to the Town’s main Square of Constitution, occupying more than a kilometre in area this busy market gives an impression of an Arabic souk, from which the most diverse products are available: flowers, plants, birds, carpets , handicrafts, articles of import, clothing, footwear, dinnerware, gift items, vegetables, fruits and vegetables and, in short, food of all kinds, all wrapped in a traditional vintage style that makes shopping at the Saturday market more than just a pleasant morning out.

The attendance of shoppers from the whole region is spectacular, counting on a very important influx of foreign population that have settled in the various Towns and Villages of our coast, we find all nationalities enjoying this unique market environment.

After buying our weekly fresh ingredients to make our favourite Spanish dishes Gazpacho and of course our homemade seasonal jams we head to our favourite local cafeteria Tropicana for a typical Spanish breakfast.
